My wife is celiac (recently diagnosed) and a little apprehensive about travelling. We’ll be in Amsterdam for a few days in early May. Are the needs of celiacs generally well understood by restaurants in Amsterdam and do many of them have gluten free options (beyond a salad)?

Hi George,
Thank you for your message. There are some place where the needs of celiacs are very well understood. Make sure you go to Heasje Claes for some great dutch food. Other good restaurants are La Vina or Restaurant Lieve. All thee locations work together with the Dutch Celiac association. For lunch you can go to Piqnic or Pancake Amsterdam. I would recommend to avoid the touristic locations.
Enjoy your time in Amsterdam! If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
